R744 is a refrigerant grade of CO2 gas and is used in car air conditioning systems as a replacement for R134a and R1234yf gases. It is becoming increasingly popular due to its strong “green” credentials.

It has an Ozone Depleting Potential of zero, meaning it is not toxic to the environment at all and although it hasn’t been widely adopted, many major manufacturers such as Audi, Volkswagen and Mercedes have began to adopt it.

There is nothing worse than your air con not working in those humid, hot and sticky summer months, we can help and it won’t break the bank!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does my vehicles air conditioning actually work? Your vehicles air conditioning works in a similar manner to your household fridge. It is essentially a liquid that’s described as a “refrigerant”, so essentially a liquid that is converted to a gas at a cool temperature. It uses a coil system that absorbs the heat, your air conditioning unit blows through these coils, the heat is absorbed and the result is cool air. How does an air-con regas work? Our regassing services will remove the current liquid and replace it with the recommended and precise quantity of new liquid (refrigerant). This recharges your system and results in cooler more powerful air being blown. How can I prolong the life of my air-con and refrigerant It’s simple! Use it, the more you use it the longer it lasts, so be sure to use it and let it blow cold once in a while, even in the winter.

WHY DO I NEED AN AIRCON REGAS IN WYCHBOLD, DROITWICH?

If you have a modern car, chances are that air conditioning is fitted as standard. Air Conditioning makes journeys that little bit more comfortable and tolerable, whether hot or cold, so it’s important to ensure it continues working as it should. As an average, 10% of air-con gas exits and escapes the system each and every year, so over time the power of your system diminishes and reduces. Most vehicle manufacturers recommend having your air-con regassed at least once every 2 years to ensure everything works as it should.
