Smart car in for an air con SERVICE which turned into a condenser replacement as it was leaking. I emphasise service as most garages will just refill your system and charge you for it and let you go as it’s passed a vacuum test. We vacuum the moisture and oil pag oil out the system which damages compenets in the air con system, do a vacuum test, refill with gas, then leak test with the system under pressure as a simple vacuum test isn’t conclusive.
The air con can carry on working for up to a fortnight with a slow leak, all the while loosing harmful gases to the atmosphere, hence us carrying out the procedure. We can service R134a and R1234YF systems.
